Block Time Packages

Sell pre-paid flight hour packages to members and track their usage automatically.

Overview

Block time packages let you sell pre-paid flight hours to members. Each package tracks how many hours a member has purchased and how many they've used, with a visual progress bar on their profile.

This feature requires the Billing & Payments add-on.

Creating a Block Time Package

Only admins can create block time packages.

  1. Go to Settings → Members and open a member's profile.
  2. Scroll to the Block Time section.
  3. Click Add Package and fill in:
    • Aircraft type (optional) — restrict the package to a specific aircraft type (e.g., "Cessna 172S") or leave blank for any aircraft
    • Total hours — the number of pre-paid hours in the package
    • Rate per hour — the rate charged per hour against this package (in cents)
    • Expiry date (optional) — packages expire on this date if hours aren't used
    • Notes — any internal notes (e.g., "Intro package" or "Annual renewal")
  4. Click Add Package.

On a member's profile, the Block Time section shows each package with:

How Usage Is Tracked

Block time usage is tracked through the billing system when flights check in. The billing action deducts hours from the active package matching the aircraft type.

Note: Automatic deduction from block time packages during check-in requires configuration in your billing setup. Contact support for setup guidance specific to your rate policy.

Removing a Package

Click the trash icon next to a package to delete it. This action is permanent and cannot be undone. The member's remaining hours will be lost, so only remove packages that are fully used or issued in error.
