Editing Hobbs, Tach & Cycles

How to correct or update Hobbs time, tach time, and landing cycles on any aircraft.

What Are Hobbs, Tach, and Cycles?

Editing Current Hours

You can correct or update these values at any time (Owner/Admin only):

  1. Open the aircraft and go to the Details tab.
  2. Click Edit Hours.
  3. Enter the corrected values for Hobbs, Tach, and/or Cycles.
  4. Click Save.

Changing these values will recalculate inspection due-dates based on the new totals.

How Hours Update Automatically

When you log a flight, Aloft360 adds the elapsed Hobbs and tach time to the aircraft totals automatically. You do not need to manually update hours after logging a flight.

For check-in / check-out via the Professional module, Hobbs and tach are captured at departure and return, and the difference is added to the aircraft total.

Correcting a Past Log Entry

If a flight was logged with incorrect Hobbs or tach values:

  1. Open the aircraft → Flights tab.
  2. Click on the flight entry you need to correct.
  3. Click Edit Flight.
  4. Update the Hobbs/Tach start and end values.
  5. Click Save.

The aircraft totals will recalculate automatically.

Tach vs. Hobbs — Which to Use?

Use whichever your maintenance organization uses for tracking. If your annual and 100-Hour are tracked in tach hours, log tach. If your mechanic uses Hobbs, log Hobbs. You can log both simultaneously.
