Safety Reports

Submit and manage anonymous safety reports — Aloft360's built-in ASAP/SMS-style reporting system.

Overview

Aloft360 includes a built-in Aviation Safety Action Program (ASAP) style reporting system. Any member of your organization can submit a safety report — anonymously if desired. Admins and owners can review reports, update their status, and document corrective actions.

Submitting a Safety Report

  1. Click Safety in the left sidebar (visible to all roles).
  2. Click Submit Safety Report.
  3. Fill in:
    • Report Type — Incident, Hazard, Near Miss, or Observation
    • Category — Weather, Mechanical, ATC, Human Factors, Airspace, Ground Operations, Wildlife, or Other
    • Severity — Low, Medium, High, or Critical
    • Description (required) — a clear description of what occurred or was observed
    • Anonymous toggle — when on, your name and email are not stored with the report
    • Occurrence Date (optional) — when the event occurred
    • Related Aircraft (optional) — which aircraft was involved, if any
  4. Click Submit Report.

After submission, you're taken to the report detail page where you can view its current status.

Anonymous Reporting

When the Anonymous toggle is enabled before submitting, your name and email are not attached to the report. The system stores anonymous: true and no identifying information. Admins cannot see who submitted anonymous reports.

Non-anonymous reports show the reporter's name and allow for follow-up communication.

Manager Review

Admins and owners can view and update all reports:

  1. Go to Safety to see all submitted reports.
  2. Click a report to open its detail page.
  3. Use the Review panel to:
    • Update the status
    • Adjust severity
    • Document corrective action taken
  4. Click Save Changes.

The corrective action field is visible to the original reporter (if not anonymous) when they view the report.

Report Detail Page

Each report has a permanent URL at /safety/[report-id]. Non-anonymous reporters can access their own report at any time. Admins can access all reports.

Notifications

Currently, safety reports do not trigger automatic email notifications. Admins should check the Safety page regularly or build a workflow reminder into your safety management system.
