Pre-Checkout Verification

How the pre-departure checkout checklist works, including inspection status, squawks, and pilot currency.

What Is Pre-Checkout Verification?

Before departing, pilots go through the checkout verification flow in Aloft360. It surfaces any open issues that could affect airworthiness or legal dispatch — before the engine starts.

Initiating Checkout

  1. Open the Schedule and find your reservation.
  2. Click Check Out on the reservation.
  3. The verification checklist appears.

What the Checklist Shows

The checklist includes up to three sections, depending on your organization's settings:

Inspection Status

Shows all tracked inspections for the aircraft:

Overdue inspections are flagged clearly but do not automatically block dispatch. The pilot must acknowledge them.

Open Squawks

Any unresolved squawks are listed with their severity level. The pilot must acknowledge each one before proceeding.

Grounding-severity squawks are highlighted prominently.

Pilot Currency

If Track Pilot Currency is enabled in Settings, the checklist shows the pilot's FAA currency status:

Completing Checkout

After reviewing all items:

  1. Acknowledge each flagged item (check the box or click Acknowledge).
  2. Click Complete Checkout.

The aircraft is now checked out and the reservation status updates to In Progress.

Enabling / Disabling Checklist Items

Owners and Admins can control which checklist sections appear:

  1. Go to Settings.
  2. Under Feature Toggles:
    • Track Pilot Currency — shows currency status in the checklist
    • Require MX Verification on Checkout — shows inspection status in the checklist
