Enrolling Students

How to invite new students to your flight school and designate existing members as students in Aloft360.

Overview

In Aloft360, Student is a first-class role — separate from Renter. Students have access to aircraft, scheduling, and flight logging (like Renters), plus their training records, endorsements, and TSA tracking are visible to their assigned CFI and school admins.

Prerequisite: The Student Training Module must be enabled in Settings → General before student-specific features appear. See Student Training Module for how to enable it.

Inviting a New Student

  1. Go to Settings → Members.
  2. In the Invite Member section, fill in:
    • Full Name — the student's full legal name
    • Email Address — where the invitation will be sent
    • Role — select Student (appears when the Training Module is on)
  3. Click Invite.

The student will receive an email with a link to create their account. After signing in and completing their profile, they will appear in the Students roster.

Changing an Existing Member to Student

If someone is already in your org with a different role, you can change them:

  1. Go to Settings → Members and click the icon next to the member.
  2. Open the Profile tab.
  3. In the Roles card, either:
    • Use the Primary Role dropdown to select Student, or
    • Toggle on the Student (Training) switch (available when the Training Module is on)
  4. Click Save Roles.

Removing the Student Role

To unenroll a student (e.g., they graduated or left):

  1. Open the member's profile page.
  2. In the Roles card, change Primary Role to another role (e.g., Renter, or remove them from the org entirely).
  3. Click Save Roles.

Their TSA records and training data are preserved in the database and will reappear if they are re-enrolled.

Students Page

When the Training Module is enabled and you have at least one student, a Students item appears in the sidebar. The Students page shows:
